APSP Pool & Spa Safety Week
May 31 - June 6, 2008

We worked hard to get the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act passed by Congress. Now we want to get the safety message to the consumer.

Get involved in safety during APSP Pool & Spa Safety Week .

Below are free member resources you can download and use to promote the safe, enjoyable use of pools and spas.

And don’t miss the special safety week consumer package you can purchase at a special price: Click here.

Newspaper Ads

Here are a few different size ads that can run in your local paper. Add you own local information and and invite consumers to come in and learn about safety.

Many newspapers will give you the space, free, since the ad promotes safety and not any store or product. It’s a Public Service Announcement.

Proclamation

The proclamation template outlines the critical reasons, for government officials, why we’re implementing this initiative. This MUST be customized to the state/municipality before it’s sent to anyone for review/signing. We want consumers to understand how they can prevent injury and save lives, following up on passage of the Pool & Spa Safety Act. Get your Mayor or Governor to sign the proclamation and send a copy to me.

Radio Scripts

Here are 20-second, 30-second, and 60-second announcer read scripts for your local radio station. As with the newspapers, this is a Public Service Announcement and many radio stations will be happy to join with you to save lives. Click here for the radio scripts.

Artwork for Signs/Posters

Here’ you’ll find the artwork for a window sign or a poster for your store or outlet. Just send it to your local Kinkos. An 11 x 17 sign costs only $1.87 and, if you want it laminated, an additional $4.47 If you want an 18 x 24 sign, the cost is $7.75 sq. ft., (bigger signs are on a more durable material). Therefore, the 18 x 24 sign would cost approximately $25.
