APSP Exhibits at Conference for Health Officials
On September 26-27, Pam Vinje, representing APSP Region 3, exhibited at the annual Colorado Environmental Health Association (CEHA) exhibition and conference in Breckenridge, CO. She reported that the health officials who work with pools and spas expressed concern over the number of recreational water illnesses that occurred this past summer. In response, APSP is providing these health officials with complimentary access to its ANSI standards and its quarterly Recreational Water Quality e-newsletter for public health officials.
Health officials at the conference were also informed about the new education module APSP has developed on recreational water illnesses, which was presented at the NEHA annual conference in June. This program will also be presented by APSP member Louis “Sam” Fruia at the International Pool & Spa Expo on Thursday, November 29, 8-10 a.m., and the Southwest Pool and Spa Show on March 6, 2008.
CEHA is an affiliate of the National Environmental Health Association and is open to environmental health professionals working in local, state, and federal government. "This conference provided a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with public health officials and industry professionals throughout Colorado," says Vinje. "APSP Region 3 looks forward to building lasting relationships with these officials."
