Fellowships

Purpose
The Fellowship Program exists to encourage and support graduate students and post-doctoral fellows who focus research in two areas associated with water-treated aquatic venues (e.g. swimming pools, spas/hot tubs, therapy pools, water parks, etc.):

  1. Research to reduce the risks associated with, but not limited to, physical facility design, exposure to chemical or pathogenic contaminants, air quality, drowning, entrapment, etc.
  2. Research to investigate and document the positive health consequences of aquatic activities against maladies such as, but not limited to, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, aging, arthritis, etc.

Board Fellowship
(2) —  $ 2,000

Foundation Fellowship
(up to 4) — $1,000

Requirements

  1. Enrolled full-time and pursuing an advanced academic degree or a post-doctoral researcher at an academic institution.
  2. Include a completed fellowship application.

Deadline
The deadline for the 2023-2024 academic year has passed. Stay tuned for information about the 2024 fellowship!

Award Notification
Recipients will be notified on or before August 15, 2023. Awards will be paid in two installments (fall and spring semester) when recipients demonstrate enrollment.
